Changing timeframe and scrolling issues

#1 Postby janson » Thu Mar 10, 2011 9:08 pm

Hi,

when I walk through the charts (not during a test phase) and I switch to another timeframe, the charts jump to the end or beginning and I have to find the place I was again. Can I turn this off somewhere?

I also find scrolling forward or backward by the mousewheel quite tyring. I am used to metatrader and you can go easily forth and back a batch of bars with the mousewheel. If you want to go bar by bar you just use F12. In Forextester you really need sporty finger even when you have to scroll back some hours in a 5 minute chart. Is there a possibility to adjust the scrolling speed of the mousewheel?

Regards
Janson

Hello,

Sorry but for now there is no way to turn off jumping to the beginning of data, we'll fix it later.

To scroll the chart faster you can press mouse button on any place of the chart and move the mouse. If you want to scroll quite far then please use "scroll panel" on the bottom of the chart (see attached screenshot)

Thanks, that facilitates the scrolling considerably. Though the scroll bar can be somewhat unhandy when you have ten years of history loaded. It becomes very sensitive then.

Same issue two years later

Having the charts jump all over the place is a major pain. This request was made 2 years ago. Can we finally get this issue resolved?

This feature is very needed.
Locking time position when switching timeframes
or at least being able to fast goto a specified time on chart
maybe even with bookmark a time/date

Thanks

I agree with traders above.
The feature for locking the date of zooming in or switching timeframes is very needed! I am using 2.9.6 version and its not there.

Especially if one works on 5min and 1min timeframes, and wishes to look into a distant history for defining price levels.

This idea was suggested 2 years ago already.

Thank you.
