Timeframe and Charting Questions

#1 Postby mechanicmatt » Sat Oct 17, 2020 1:04 am

Hello,

I'm new here and considering to purchase Forex Tester. I have a couple of questions, if anyone is able to provide some insight I'd greatly appreciate it.

I trade on MT4 with Oanda on the 15-minute timeframe. I use "min" and "max" lines on my charts to watch the expansion and contraction of spreads. I also use bollinger bands.

Are min and max lines and bollinger bands supported in Forex Tester ?
What level of data (basic, standard, VIP) is needed to support 15-minute timeframe ?
What is the difference between "medium" and "high" quality data ?
What is the difference between "1-min" and "tick + 1-min" ?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Bollinger Bands is present in the Forex Tester program and you can also add custom indicators to the program so you should be able using this indicator during testing without any problems.

As for M15 time frame, we usually recommend using historical data from Standard subscription because this data is 5-digit.
Free data from Basic subscription is 4-digit and may be insufficient for M15 timeframe.

Medium quality data means that this data is 4-digit and provided without volumes.
High quality data is 5-digit and provided with volumes.

"1-min" means that you can only download M1 data from our server.
"1-min + tick" means that you can download M1 data and/or tick data.
