Question on drawing tools

#1 Postby maindoor » Sat Sep 12, 2015 1:11 pm

Hi,

I have two charts open on different time-frames for the same currency pair.
Is it possible to draw a horizontal line on one chart and enable that line to show
on the other chart ?

Hello,

Do you use the charts of the same pair?

In this case you can save the lines on a first chart as a template via View -> Templates -> Save Template menu and then add this template on a second chart (change a timeframe of this chart to necessary after you add a template), in this case you should see lines on a second chart too.

Will you agree that this is a roundabout way to solve this problem and this quickly turns a mess/cumbersome if 3 or 4 charts are involved ?
Maybe you can consider this as a feature request. Have a sticky icon on each window and whichever window has the sticky icon, all will have
the same properties/indicators/lines etc. except timeframe/symbol change.
IMHO a tester software should have such a useful functionality.
If someone adds an indicator that does costly calculations on a chart, the user may experience delays in painting, because of this feature.
But that is the users problem not yours.

Hello,

Ok, I will ask our programmers to check if they can add this functionality in next Forex Tester version.

Hi,
Could you tell me if this drawing on one chart is working on another ?
I have Forex Tester 4
Where is the option to make it default ?

Hello,

Yes, this option is added in the Forex Tester 4 program.

Please activate "Copy paint tool when created to all charts with same symbol" button on a toolbar (the button in the bottom left of the toolbar).
Then draw any line on a chart and it will be duplicated to other charts automatically.
