Default Pivot Point Calculation Problem (?)

#1 Postby etw » Sat Jul 10, 2010 12:03 pm

When I manually calculate the S3 (red line) pivot for the last day in this chart (after last vertical dotted line) using the following formula:

Code: Select all

S3[index] := l - 2*(h - _pp);

I come up with 1.2626 - 2(1.2990 - 1.2660) = 1.1966.

Obviously I don't know how this works - can someone clarify how these daily pivots are calculated?

Hello,

Please clarity a few things:
What currency pair and timeframe do you use? Also what time period is shown on the screenshot?

It is hard to guess where you take 1.2626, 1.2990 and 1.2660 values.

I think it works after I realized _pp is the NEW pivot not the old pivot.

however the displayed number seems to be 0.0001 too high... maybe a +1 error?
