Strategy Optimizer

#1 Postby Trillion » Tue Jan 23, 2007 8:13 pm

This appear as a split window with the stat's pane on the left and 3 black boxes on the right. After running the optimizer using the play button, the display shows exactly the same ... nothing!

Using the search function in the help file, there appears to be no references to 'optimizer' in it.

Yes but you need at least 2 point to have diagrams, so you should choose parameter you want to optimize - start value, end value and step, and after start it will test strategy (end value - start value)/step times, and paint diagrams. If you just press test without setting this values you will have only 1 point and no diagrams.

What does it mean 2 point to the diagrams? Is there a help file for this? The help file for the rest of the program is very good and well laid out with all the hyper links - very good.

What I did was run the MA strategy then ran the optimizer. I'm not sure what i need to do after that.

OK - I now see a line chart being drawn up in optimiser. Can you explain what it is that you have done in the picture you've shown? I see that you have added an additional MA value and also note that you added a 1 to the 'Step' box. What is step and what exactly is going on with the optimiser? Is it that the optimiser is 'stepping' through MA values 10 to 20? Is that right?

No need to answer the last question as I can see by clicking on the dots in the line chart window that is exactly what's going on. Each dot represents 1 step in the optimisation process. This is such a good tool - really good.

Is it possible to export the stats page from the optimiser?
