Forex Tester Going away after long backtest

#1 Postby tbsmitty » Mon Nov 26, 2007 8:10 pm

Hello,

I have been trying to backtest a strategy over a 7 year period. My test creates lots of trade transactions. About mid-way through the test the program just goes away. I cannot get through a complete backtest. I have looked at the log files and there is no indication that an error occurred. Does the program have a problem backtesting over long periods and lots of trade transacitons??

Help!!

I have experienced this problem too, when coming to check on the progress of the test and finding that the program has simply shut down. It would be nice to know how to avoid this..

How many transactions did you create? Try to perform fast test with disabled logging, it is possible that journal is overloaded with records.
Hasta la vista

That sounds like a plausible explanation... I often insert multiple Print() statements into my code for debugging purposes. I may have had a number of them active when I had the problem.

BTW, thanks for pointing out the Fast Test function.. It will save a lot of time!
