"Depth" setting in ZigZag indicator

#1 Postby sqaguru » Wed Jun 08, 2016 2:37 pm

What is the purpose of the "Depth" setting for the ZigZag indicator? How does it change the behavior of the indicator? Thanks

Hello,

Depth is the minimal amount of bars where there will not be the second maximum (minimum).

I'm not sure that I understand that definition. Can you illustrate it? Thanks

That's what I've got from a MQL4 forum:

Depth is the minimal amount of bars where there will not be the second maximum (minimum) Deviation pips higher or lower than the previous one. I.e., ZigZag can always diverge, but it can converge (or completely draw together) more than at the Deviation value only after Depth bars.

Hi!

I can help you to create such a zigzag indicator.

I can also convert indicator/EAs into various formats intended for different platforms, such as MT4/MT5, Forex Tester, Trading View and Ninja Trader, test your EAs or indicators and make changes needed to improve their performance substantially using our advanced backtesting tools and algorithms.
